Help Project Smile
Thousands of children face traumatic events annually. Approximately 8,000 enter foster care each year in Massachusetts and an additional 3,000 children reside in a Massachusetts homeless shelter. A limited number of police officers and fire fighters have stuffed animals on hand to give to a distressed child. We need your help so that we can provide stuffed animals, books and coloring books/crayons for police officers, fire fighters, the Dept. of Children & Families and shelters to give to children who are victims of traumatic events.
In order to continue our mission, Project Smile relies on the generous support of individuals, families, schools, businesses and other organizations. Your support is greatly needed and deeply appreciated. There are a number of ways you can help Project Smile.
Financial Donations
We need financial donations to expand our efforts and reach more children who have been victims of traumatic events. All funds go into maintaining and expanding Project Smile so we can reach more children in need by working with police and fire departments across New England, DCF and homeless shelters. Donate Items
Organize a stuffed animal and or book drive. This is an excellent project for Girl/Boy Scouts, Church groups, volunteer organizations, Bar/Bat Mitzah projects, social groups, team-building events, or as a community service project for students or employees.
Intern or Volunteer
Intern or Volunteer with Project Smile. Are you looking to boost your resume skills? Are you a student looking for work experience? We're looking for reliable volunteers with computer skills to help out at the Project Smile Hopedale location. Hours are flexible. Duties can include: marketing, PR, event planning, grant work, helping solicit auction items, sponsorship outreach and general program work.
