Very few
police officers and fire fighters have anything to give to a
child. Please help PROJECT SMILE reach its goal of providing
stuffed animals, coloring books/crayons, small toys and reading
books so that all police and fire fighters in New England to
have one to give to a hurting child. In order to continue our
mission, PROJECT SMILE relies on the generous support of
individuals, families, schools, businesses and other
organizations. Your support is greatly needed and deeply
appreciated. There are a number of ways you can help PROJECT
SMILE.

STUFFED
ANIMAL DONATIONS
PROJECT
SMILE is always in need of stuffed animal donations. This is a
wonderful way for the unused stuffed animals that you have in
your home to bring happiness to another child's life. We accept
donations of new and previously owned stuffed animals. If there
is not a drop-off location close to you, please contact us
directly. Stuffed animal donations are also welcomed by mail to
our headquarters. Our mailing address is:
PO Box 336, Hopedale, MA 01747
It
is extremely important that all stuffed animals which Project
Smile distributes to police and fire departments are in
excellent condition, as they will be given to children who have
been involved in highly traumatic incidents. While many children
have a large quantity of stuffed animals in their home, some of
them may not be appropriate to donate. Please take a few minutes
and sort through the stuffed animals. The following are general
guidelines to help:
·
Size. Due to the
size limitations, please no stuffed animals over 21 inches.
· Condition.
Absolutely no stains or smells from pets, smoke, dust, etc.
Please check the stuffed animals for tears, discoloration and
worn, pilled or damaged clothing. Please do not wash the stuffed
animals or attempt to repair them.
· Battery
compartments. We can not accept stuffed animals that have
battery compartments.
·
No stuffed animals
that make noises- such as singing, reciting prayers, etc.
·
No commemorative
stuffed animals that have years sewn on them.
·
Please do not
remove the tags.
We are looking for children’s reading
books that are in excellent condition. Books that are suitable for
children between 4-12 years old would be great. Books must not have any
tears, missing pages, loose covers, stains or writing on them. We can
not accept books with religious themes.

FINANCIAL
CONTRIBUTIONS
PROJECT SMILE needs your help! Financial contributions are absolutely
crucial for us so that we can continue to provide items of comfort for
children who have been involved in horrific situations and witnessed
events that no adult, let alone a child, should ever experience. All
funds go into maintaining and expanding PROJECT SMILE so we can reach
more children in need by working with police and fire departments across
New England. Your tax deductible donation will make a difference and is
greatly appreciated. Thank you!
